How to download 10 free games on the PSP Go - Gran Turismo, one of the 10 free gamesSony are offering all new PSP go owners (see the important note below), a free game download incentive. From the 9th of June to the 31st Jan 2011, all new PSP go owners will be entitled to download 10 free PSP go games.

This is a very generous offer from Sony. Some might say too generous. Most PSP users don't even own 10 games, so giving away this many games is going to have a big impact on software sales, and software after all is where they make their money, not hardware.

Important Note: To qualify for this offer you must own a PSP go model PSP-N100x and must not, prior to 01/04/10, have used your PSP go to either (i) create a PSN account or (ii) log into any of your existing PSN accounts (whether or not such PSN account(s) were created using your PSP go). Phew! Is that clear?

Download 10 Free PSP go Games - How To Guide

Here is a step by step guide explain how to download the 10 free games. Sony have a bit of a strange way of doing things, so read carefully. It should be noted that this offer applies to Sony Europe only. Sony North America are offering just 3 free games.

  1. Buy a PSP go, you can use our PSP go price comparison service to find the best price
  2. Connect your PSP go to the Internet and sign into the PlayStation Store. If you don't have a PlayStation Network (PSN) Account, now is the time to create one
  3. You will now need to download a free PSP theme. This theme should be visible in the 'Latest' section of the PSN Store - download this theme before the 31st Jan 2011.
  4. After you've downloaded the theme you will get a Redemption Code sent back to you, to the email address associated with your PSN account. This code expires if not used by the 9th June 2011.
  5. Keep the email open on your PC. Using your PSP go, go back to the PSN Store. At the top right of the screen you will see a button labeled 'Redeem Code'. Click this button and enter your redemption code
  6. You'll now be given the option to download the 10 free games. You'll need a fair bit of free storage storage space to download these games, so you might want to check this first
